In general, vinyl lettering should be applied to clean, non-porous, and smooth surfaces.
We do not recommend placing vinyl lettering on the following surfaces (or surfaces that are similar):
cement, paint which is peeling, faded or oxidized, oily or wet surfaces, raw lumber or raw metals, brick, etc.

You should presume that your surface is dirty and clean it with a 2 to 1 mixture of water and isopropyl alcohol
(Windex and related cleaners are acceptable).
Dry the surface off with a clean cloth preferably dry and lint free.
Do not try to apply the lettering if temperatures are below 55 degrees Fahrenheit.
Mark the surface where you intend to apply the lettering with a water-soluble pencil
(we offer these under accessories) - this will help assure a smooth application.
Partially pull the tape off of the back and gently position one of the corners to the surface.
Step back to assure that it is strait. Adjust if necessary.
Then pull the remaining backing off and smooth the letters so they are flat and level.
Remove the mask.
Sometimes there are small bubbles below the lettering - don't worry, they disappear within a few days after application.
If there are large bubbles below the vinyl, they can be removed by carefully applying heat from a hair dryer,
puncturing the lettering with a needle, and forcing the air out with your thumb.
However this procedure is not recommended due to the possibility of damaging the letters.
