Graduation Banners - With an upcoming graduation ceremony to attend, you may be
interested in knowing that the graduation march used when receiving a diploma was taken
from Edward Elgar's opus 38, called The Pomp and Circumstance March Series. It consists
of a series of five marches. The most commonly used in graduations is the first march
in the series now commonly called Pomp and Circumstance. Elgar pulled the title of the
marches from Shakespeare's Act III of Othello "Farewell the neighing steed, and the
shrill trump, The spirit-stirring drum, the ear-piercing fife, The royal banner, and
all quality, Pride, pomp, and circumstance of glorious war!". If you would like to
customize your
graduation banner with your love one's or friend's name and/or picture,
order the banner below and send us instructions on how you would like to change it. We will place it on the
graduation banner for no extra charge as long as the photograph is of high enough quality.
